The way you think to yourself determines whether you live in a state of heaven, hell, or somewhere inbetween…

We must remember that life is fundamentally an internal journey, not an external journey. Life is an ongoing process of self discovery to self realisation. And we must remember that what we call our external journey (our world and the things happening to us) is merely a reflection of that inner journey and the work we are doing within our mind…

If your thoughts are generally angry and frustrated then you will continue to attract to yourself people, situations and experiences that match that anger and frustration. You will perceive the anger and the frustration in everything that arises, you look and perceive from that point of view. On the other hand if you can start to direct your thoughts to feeling places of appreciation, of love, of trust, of peace, then the people, situations and experiences flowing into your life, will begin to match that.

It’s as though people think that their point of view is born from what it is happening to them, when in reality, it is the other way around, it is their perception and point of view, that is creating the way they create and perceive the world around them…

So how is your relationship with your thoughts?

Do you find yourself judging yourself and others? Do you find yourself evaluating and analysing every aspect of your life? Do you feel the need to pin down your future? To organise your future and make decisions on how things are going to be? Do you feel the need to defend yourself? Or enhance yourself to others? Do you feel a strong need to get your point across? Do you feel the need to make others wrong when you know they are? Are you moaning about the weather? Complaining about your neighbours? Or in fact, complaining about anything at all?

Think about this for a moment…

Realise deeply that all suffering and negativity is caused by resistance to the present moment, by not accepting the way life has unfolded right now in this moment…

Think about it… if you were to be in total acceptance and surrender to everything that arises in the present moment, total acceptance of who you are and where you are, and total acceptance of other people and where they are, then where are the problems? How can you feel discomfort? If you make total peace with the present moment then how can there be any suffering?

Realise deeply that you can end all mental suffering right now by accepting the present moment, by becoming one with it, by making peace with it, and by allowing it to unfold…

Make acceptance of the present moment into your only goal. Whatever arises, it is your key to practice acceptance. If you can feel negativity starting to stir within you, then that is you signal to practice acceptance. Realise deeply that that discomfort is only arising because you are resisting the unfolding of the present moment…

Start to look for positive aspects about everything that’s arising and everything around you. Withdraw your energy from evaluating and judging and direct it to finding and looking for the love and the good in everything…

Remember; it is the quality of the way you live in the present moment that is moulding and creating the path in front of you. It is the way you think that is either moving you towards hell, or moving you towards heaven, either way; it is always your choice…
